At the Tuesday, January 4th meeting of Vermilion Lions Club, club members were informed of job training efforts to help the unemployed and underemployed gain skills and hopefully good paying jobs.
Guest speakers from the Berea Children's Home and Family Services included:
- Debby Zanglin (Board member),
- Kiersten Watkins (Director of Work Force Programs)
- and Joanna Dioia (LISW-S, Supervisor, Lorain County Mental Health Programs).
All three speakers detailed program efforts to help Lorain county residents earn GED's and Ohio Nurse Training Assistant certification (NEO-NAT), as well as job placement in the medical field. As this program is part of Federal Stimulus Spending and job creation, applications to the program are open to anyone. For more information on how you can get free education/training and potential job placement in a rewarding career call, 440-260-8383 or visit

Tuesday evening also saw Del Orwig receive the distinguished
Monarch Award for Vermilion Lions Club service for fifty years!
Congratulations Del on a half century of giving to your community!
